Constructive supervision of the building of the new premises also
demanded good collaboration with the governments involved.
During the exploratory research into the possibilities for building
the new factory, we soon came into contact with Omgevingsdienst
Midden en West Brabant (Environment Department Central and
West Brabant, OMWB).
They were looking for a company to participate in launching a
pilot for obtaining conditional planning permission more quickly.
This meant we were allowed to start building without all permits
having been fi nally issued. A permit procedure alone generally
takes some 26 weeks. The assessment and perusal term is then
added to that, which means you can easily spend a year just
obtaining the permits. The OMWB declaration of intent enabled
us to start building within just four weeks after submitting the application.
This was, however, on the condition of ‘irreproachable
conduct’, as a company, for a period of at least the last fi ve years.
In addition, we had to supply all information on the project within
a very short period of time. In return, the OMWB also had to
assess these documents in a short period of time.
To achieve this, we worked closely with various bodies, including
the municipality of Moerdijk. They dealt extremely decisively with
the application, which we appreciate greatly.
