The Arnhem City Council played an important part in DEKRA’s search for a new location. Sander Ambrosius, Senior Advisor Economic Affairs within the Policy and Management cluster, says: “For us, it was very important that DEKRA would stay in Arnhem – not only to keep jobs here but also in view of the company’s international ties and its wealth of knowledge. Furthermore, DEKRA’s business objectives are a good fit with our economic policy which has set energy and the environment as priorities.” 3 DEKRA and Arnhem City Council Shared vision Involved The contact between DEKRA and the city council has always been very good. “That’s partly due to DEKRA’s long history in Arnhem,” continues Ambrosius. “On top of that, we as the council are very involved with the companies in our city. We keep track of how their business is doing and what their ambitions are. This helps us to fulfil our role as facilitator as effectively as possible.” Proud The city council worked closely with DEKRA to find a suitable new location based on all the relevant aspects. “This business park is ideally suited to this international company,” explains Ambrosius. “It offers lots of opportunities and is in attractive green surroundings. Thanks to the very high standard of amen - ities, the excellent infrastructure and the advanced communication technology in place, the business park is geared up for the future. It offers DEKRA the freedom to think ahead. In turn, we are extremely proud that Arnhem plays a part in this company’s vision of the future.
